Vostro 1700 has finally arrived in my office today. A friend in the US ordered this laptop for me from Dell last October 10 and received it on October 30. Then on November 9 he sent the laptop in a balikbayan box package through Forexworld. Forexworld, btw, is a shipping company with headquarters in the US that ships packages to the Philippines hp pavilion dv2630ea battery. It took 48 days to deliver the package from Forexworld warehouse to my address. It came earlier than I expected. The shipping costs $135 only and I didn’t have to pay any taxes since it is in a balikbayan box. At first I was hesitant to send this through a balikbayan box but Forexworld did a good job on delivering my new laptop in one piece.

The horizontal viewing angles are very good, but a couple of degrees up or down and most colors look differently. The sound system can be turned very laud adding more to the “home cinema” effect on a laptop. Overall Vostro 1700 is well suited for all kind of applications, performing well in any situation. Generally very quiet, it gets very hot at the bottom. The keyboard is solid and complete, but it will take a while to get used to “where is Delete button?” – some buttons that on normal PC computers are founded down-rigth, at Dell laptops are placed up-right.

Compared to the size of this notebook, the touchpad is really small – if you don’t have small fingers, you will end up with your fingers in the scrolling area olympus li-12b battery. 3 USB ports, the modem connection and the S-Video output are located at the back, wireless switch and the ExpressCard slot at the left, headphones/microphone connections, DVD drive, 8-in-1 memory card reader, IEEE 1394 (Firewire), an external monitor output, Ethernet port and two more USB ports at the right.
